I bought an aftermarket keyless entry to which i'm hooking up in my car (97 vw golf, oem power locks, and oem alarm.) now i have everything hooked up, but can't get the car to unlock with the new remote. it will only disarm the alarm. i'm told i need to send the alarm module a double pulse 1 for the alarm, 2 for the unlock. but the new keyless module i have is only sending 1 pulse. is there anyway i can make it send 2? or am i sol?

Well...you gave us the "car info" ....now give us the "keyless entry info" (brand and model #)

There should be programming instructions that came with the unit.....read, it will tell you how to change the unlock pulse to double.

Have you tried hitting unlock twice....?

Are you using POSITIVE Pulse??
If so, you may need Double Pulse Generator......

Power LockGRAYDRIVER KICK
Power UnlockGREENPANEL *
Positive Pulse Door Locks.
* Unlock Wire Requires Two Positive Pulse To Unlock.
Also A 12 Second Positive Pulse On The Lock Wire Will Close All Windows And Sunroof (On GL Models Only).

I'm hooking up a keyless entry module in my car, anyways i diagnosed the problem as to why it isn't working, and came up with The oem alarm requires a double pulse, and the keyless module is only sending one. so i tried this

https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/109.jpg

i hooked it all up and it still doesn't work. Now i think i used the wrong diode and cap. i'm new to this electronics stuff, the ones i used were: Electrolytic Capacitor which says on it 85oC SR 1000uf 50v

and the rectifier diode: 6A05 0435 (6 amps/50 PIV)

am i using the wrong ones? the diagram isnt really specific. and also, i know capacitors aren't but are diodes heats sensitive? i soldered on the ends and i might have fried something init.

it looks like that diagram is intended for a negative pulse lock system. If you connect your pin 85 of the relay to ground instead of 12V it should work.
