I've done alarm installs in the past, although I've never done a 350z, and I've never had to use a bypass module before. Can someone explain to me how this works, or for those who have done this install before, have anything that could help me out, or perhaps guide me? I'd really appreciate it. Thank you. The alarm is the Viper 791xv if that helps at all. Thank you.

The bypass module is to allow you to remote start the vehicle without having to have a key in the ignition to transmit the code from the key to the Immobilizer module to allow fuel to the injectors. There have been quite a few posts about the 350Z so do a search and you can find all the posts that other's have posted about this particular car and other tips.

Ah, thanks. Yeah, I was looking at a couple of threads, but couple of them made it seem pretty hard. I was just wondering what I've gotten myself into. I def. will search a bit more though, I appreciate the info!

If you have specific questions about the installation that doesn't make sense to you, post themon this thread and you will get responses on it within a couple of hours or longer.

the car is actually pretty simple to work on. the only reason you would need an interface module would be if you are not comfortable running wires through the door boot into the drivers door to interface with the door locks.

Those car's aren't bad; plenty of room to work too.

Do some searches at the carsound.com forums; there are some tricks there. Search for "nissan bcm" to learn how to do locks without running wire into the doors. I've done a lot more G35s than 350Zs, but they are the same car---you might find some G35 commentary there too.

I had a question, I was reading the carsound forums, and it appears that they say one pulse for lock and two pulse for unlock--what exactly does that mean? Or how do you set the alarm up to do this?

you have to set that in the programming of the unit you are using. its going to be in menu 2 feature number 7 of the viper unit your using. check out page 40/41 of your install manual and it will walk you through what you have to do in order to program it to double pulse unlock. (which means its going to provide 2 pulses upon unlock, even tho you only press unlock once on the transmitters)
