Okay this is what I have I have an alarm already installed and I have figured out what wires are which. I am going to simply change to a different alarm and everything hooks up the same except for the door locks. On my old alarm there are six wires two unused (brown & white), two (purple) connected to ground, one (blue unlock common)and one (green lock common). Now on the new alarm I only have three wires one (green neg.lock, Pos. unlock)another (blue pos lock, neg. unlock)and a third (blue/red neg. 2nd unlock)
This is a negative lock, do I hook up the new (green neg. lock - pos. unlock) to the (blue unlock common)and the new (blue pos. lock - neg. unlock) to the old(green lock common)? And then leave the new (blue/red) unhooked? Thanks.

wouldn't it be the other way geen from the alarm brain to the old green, and the blue to the old blue cause on negative power locks the green is lock and the blue is unlock the blue/red is not needed

not 100% sure, someone else will have to answer that for you did you have actuators put in your car or does your car already have power door locks if your car has power door locks just get rid of all the old door lock wiring and connect the green wire to the lock wire in the car, and the blue wire to the unlock wire in the car

sounds like you have a relay pack similar to the DEI 451M installed; the two purple wires are a ground input for that relay pack. It basically allows a stronger ground signal to be sent to the lock wires than the hundred milliamps or so that the wires directly from the brain put out.

Yea I thought that the old alarm might have a built in relay. But will the new alarm work without the relay?
