So I've been doing some research into putting the remote start into my 98 JGC 5.9 Limited.  Originally I was wondering about maintaining the factory memory seating and different ways to do so.  Now I have decided that mabye I won't worry about that and I will just carry the Prestige remote and hook up the door locks and forget about the memory seat.  However, I researched the lock hook up and it sounds a little complicated... but to the rescue comes the DEI 455t right?  sounds great and I'm ready to buy it for the ease of hook up

Quick and easy installation for this power door lock interface and upgrade. Application is for use in the '1996-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokees. Simple two-wire connection into the vehicle's underdash databus allows aftermarket systems to control the factory arm/disarm, domelight supervision, door locking, drivers door unlocking/all door unlocking and more!

WHat I want to know is what do they mean by "and more!"  What else can it do? I've searched and searched... no one lists what the "and more!" means.

thanks as always to all the great advice

Happy Holidays

-Jeff

The ones that we sell have the window roll up option on it so that when you arm the system all windows that are open ( regardless of wether or not they are all open the same amount ) will close for you automatically. https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/security/jeep_transponder.htm

This window up option is stand alone?  No additional parts needed? or does it simply supply the interface for an additional window roll up module?

thanks

That module is for 99+ Grand Cherokee's. It won't work with your 98. And no, they don't make a lock/window up module for the 96-98 series. Just get the 455T.

The "other" thing is the capability to interupt the door trigger input of an aftermarket alarm for 3 seconds when remote starting. Useful only for alarm/remote start installs.
