Wondering if anyone has tried using the T-harnesses from the bulldog alarms on any other alarm modules. Just seeing if anyone has had experience with the harnesses to know if it would work with a module other than bulldogs. I've installed the Avital 4300 in 5 cars and now I'm wondering if I could save some time, and cutting, by using this harness. It looks like the harness plugs directly into their modules, but cutting off that connector should let me use those wires, in theory. This is where I need some advice.

Doesn't really make sense why other manufacturers do not make these harnessses for there own systems. Less permanent cutting you do the better. Besides it would be alot easier to pull the alarm back out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have used Bulldogs T-Harness & OMEGA, but neither one keeps you from making a connection to Vehicle wiring.
Yes, I think it is / was a good idea, but all the connections for most units are not just at the Plug.
I was told by OMEGA that the reason they stopped making them was for cost. The Vehicle Manufacturer has Patents and it was to costly for the rights to them. Not to mention the normal DIYer is more into Installing different products than one product all the way thru

Do these harnesses at least keep you from the cutting the wires? I don't mind splicing into, but the cutting is what I'd like to avoid in this situation. I believe the harness is only good for the key switch wires, so in that case would it work for not having to permanently cut? Would the harness help in the installation of the Avital?

Yep - they keep you from cutting wires on the ignition wiring harness only. You still have to splice the parking lights, horn, door triggers, etc.

I have a bulldog harness on mine with an Autopage alarm.

I did however soldered the "crimp" connections that they used and then heat shrunk everything.

Works like a charm plus you never know there is an alarm on my vehicle.

Thanks Fullthrottle, that is what I needed. Did you end up cutting off the T-harnesses "bulldog connector" that plugs into their module? Still not sure if I want to spend the extra $20 for this harness, but the idea of not cutting into the key switch wires sounds alright.

the problem with this type of connector is that the connector itself is a possible problem spot..... you tend to get intermittent connections and arcing with these connectors..... in fact that is why DEI is doing away with the big molex connectors on their XCRS relay packs........
