I have a 1998 Chevy Silverado Z71 and I bought a remote start alarm.  I am confused by reading different articles about what security is on this vehicle (passlock 1,2 or VATS).  I am getting different answers.  I do have the factory keyless entry and there is no resistor in the key.  Any information for wire codes, specific products, or install information would be appreciated.

The truck has Passlock II on it. Do a search on the forum for this truck and you will find lots of information pertaining to installation notes and tips.
