Hey all, Installed a r/s on a 2003 sunfire, the car has anti theft but not factory alarm. i used a pl2004 bypass module for the passlock 2 system, it seems when the vehicle is started by remote, the service light and the theft light come on , the car always starts but these lights seem to come on after the car has started and is driven for a while. could this be a minor tweek on the potometer of the pl2004 to fix this or should i be looking for something else. I have installed quite a few pl2004's and have had great luck with them so far. i should mention these lights do not seem to come on at all if the vehicle is started with a key. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. should also mention this only started occuring recently, and the install was completed about 2 weeks ago.

           Thank you in advance

Minor tweak on the pot. on the PL2004 should do the trick.   Also, did you power up the second brown accessory? There isn't a white second ignition on those cars from what I remember, but the second accessory powers up the cluster.

gus1 thanks for the fast reply, no i did not power up the brown second acc wire as i was told it was not needed for remote start. I didn't have a problem for a couple of weeks with these lights. I realize the brown powers up the cluster, but this also comes to life when the key is turned to on . I will try a tweek on the pot, do you think the 2nd acc wire could be an issue.

Thank you again for the help

also i remember the pl2003,s use turned the potometer JUST until the led turned off. the pl2004 paperwork says to ajust to the center of the window. any little tricks with it.

     Thanks again

PL2004 was adjust until the light goes off, I think. The 2003 was adjust until light goes on.

I would power up the cluster at remote start.... might as well, most starters have an extra programmable output. May be freaking out the car when it suddenly turns on after it has been running.

Double check the PL unit though..... takes a bit of fiddling to get the light centered, but usually 100% once done with.
