Yeah I've put a few of them in. not a great system, of the 3 I've put in I've had to swap out the brains in them several times due to issues with getting permanently stuck in valet mode. Actually have one of them coming in later today to have it replaced with a viper system.

i've only had the privlidge of putting one in...wish i never...spend your money on something more worth while for a remotestart. when i connected everything the siren wouldn't stop going off and the car wouldn't remote start, and to top it all off, 2 months later the guy comes back and tries to say he had to replace his battery twice and alternator like 3 times while takeing it back to the guy who sold it to him. i think i saw it on the roadside for garbage pick up shortly after

Maybe you should have purchased a newer Magicar... I have been installing these systems since 1999 and have had very few problems with them. All the problems I've had I created.
Also, that siren going off constantly is caused by connecting the GRAY Ignition II wire from the alarm directly to the Ignition II wire on your vehicle.
I've never heard of the systems getting stuck in vallet mode... What model do you have? My customers have been very happy with the Magicars that I've put in for them. It's one of the best systems below a viper that I've seen.

You guys are too funny.. haha.
Shawzie, Let me see if I understand what you said... You were going to purchase a Magicar system off of ebay, but after reading the opinion of 1, I emphasize, ONE, person.. lol.. you are so thankful you read his post because it saved you from buying a junk alarm?
Take this for thought.. My opinion of the alarm is that it's a great system.. now you can cross both of us out and start over..
yeah right like you are going to do that..
**edit**
I suggest reading and checking your facts before blowing off a product based on one person's opinion. At the same time.. the12volt.com is a great site for information.

Well I will eat my words now,I ended up buying the magicar from greg at alarmsellout and I feel it was a good choice. His customer service and information that he gave me was really first class and if the magicar is half as good as that I will be really happy. If anyone on here is buying for the first time as I was I would advise you to talk to greg first and he will send you down the right path.
