Hey guys. Im haveing a problem with my Viper 791. Its installed on my 95 f350 diesel. Now thats it been getting cold ive noticed something I didnt notice before. (colder it gets the longer the glow plugs cycle) When I remotely start the truck the starter doesnt wait for the wait to start light to go out. Do I have to program the unit to diesel mode?

Thanks

weird thing I've noticed on the older fords the wts light doesn't come one as soon as the ignition does but a second after, the viper needs the wire to come on with ignition or it won't wait.

the nice thing about the new units coming out of DEI is that they will have a programmable wts delay circuit... you dont even need to go to a glo plug light....

you could always just use a timer module... i've had to do this on many diesels....

Yes the WTS wire is hooked up. Like mentioned the wts light doesnt come on right away with the ignition. Where can I get a timer and are they easy to install?

Thanks

did u install a diode in-line on the factory wait to start wire between the wait to start blub and the ECM.....negitive side of diode towards ecm.....install wire from alarm between ecm and diode and not between diode and wait to start bulb....try that first and see if that fixs ur prob.  If that doesnt work then u can just turn timer mode on in the programing menu of the brain to wait for 15 to 45 seconds....let me know.....i can tell u how to turn that on if u need me to.

Where do you get a timer module or timer that would simply wait 10-20 seconds before trying to start? I am not using it for DEI products..

u can only program the new 791's to do a timer mode.....but DEI has a timer module that will work .......
