When I had my alarm installed in my 98 Acura Integra my installer said he hooked up the alarm to my oil pump. Everytime I crank my car the oil light comes on for 1-2 seconds. I'm guessing that their is some kind of delay from the relay? Is this okay?

It was probably hooked to your Oil Sending Unit.  If  the Oil Light didn't have a problem before & you are confident that the Vehicle is NOT having a problem, then have the Installer put a DIODE on the wire ..........That should take care of it

Will it do any harm to my car if I just leave it alone. What exactly does the diode do?

I think its connected it to the oil sending unit so that its harder to steal/start my car because the car is not getting any oil.

not a good idea at all, i would have them change it to the fuel pump instead, if they did hook it up to the oil wire it wouldnt prevent or make it harder for someone to steal the car, the oil wire only is for the car to make sure there is enough oil pressure getting to the engine. the oil pump on hondas are mechanical so you cant disable them electronicly.

It wasn't done by a shop. I just want to know if its going to be a problem or not.

As BobK mentioned:
It is probably for Remote Start detection.   Some Brands give you different TACH type Options for Detection of Engine Start.........
I would NOT have went with that type Install

And NO putting a DIODE on the wire from your R / S Unit that hooks to the Oil Sending Unit will NOT hurt ............
Think of a DIODE as a one way valve that will not let anything back up......

I'm pretty sure that it isn't connected to the remote start because the only wire he used from the remote start harness was the yellow ignition wire. I know because I have the rest of the harness sitting in a box. I think he connected it to the starter kill.

If you didn't have a problem before..............Take it back & have Installer put a DIODE on it.........
Sounds like you may be getting feed-back from your Alarm / RS and it may just be getting a slight GROUND prior to or while running

50 cent DIODE is worth it

No I don't think so, not for a sec. or to when cranking, but what a mess if the relay failed when you were hard on the gas passing that semi.

I don't see how it will slow down a car thief though, like he gives a shhh if the engine blows.

It would slow him down more if the relay was on the fuel pump power wire, or the ECU wire controling the fuel pump relay, or the power wire for the ECU among a lot of others, that keep the car from starting at all.
