posted_image I want to get an alarm with a remote start for my Durango. I have narrowed it down between the Viper 790VX and the Autopage RS-750lcd. I have gone to three different dealers. They all recommended what they carried or had on hand. 2 were for the Viper (one didn't carry Autopage) and one was for the Autopage. All I need to know is what your opinions are and why. PLEASE help me decide, as this will be a Christmas gift for myself. Thanks for help.

PS - I am very experienced at installing car audio equipment. Is it worth saving a couple of bucks and installing it myself? I appreciate any help and opinions that you can give. Thanks again.

I really  like the 790.  It has great range and the pager features built in to the keypad are very nice.  Also, you will never accidentally unlock your car.  It is complex though and i would suggest to have it done by a professional.

Thanks for the info. I was really leaning toward the 790 because I like the keyfob more and it looks as though the installation is easier. Did you install it yourself or have someone else install it? Also, Viper claims to be the FIRST FCC legal two way reciever, do you know if Autopage is? I forgot to ask the dealers but I wouldn't think that they would be able to sell it if they weren't. It's funny how some ads can make me wonder. Whatever I get, I'll look at the installation instructions and judge myself on my skills. If I feel it's over my head, I have a friend who was a professional installer who can do it. Thanks again for the input.
