I am in desperate need of clutch bypass, fo by 95 gst. Everthing is wired but i am unsure on how to bypas the cluh. I have the relay, but i am unsure of the connectis. thanks.
Most cars require you to join together 2 wires at the clutch in order for the car to start. If I remember correctly, the one standard Mitsu I did required you to actually break the connection at the clutch.
You can test it the following way.
Possibility 1
Find any plugs that plug into the clutch pedal assembly. There might be two different ones, usually with 2 wires each. Take your meter and put one probe on each wire and set it to continuity. Push the clutch to the floor and see if you have continuity now. If so, take a fused lead (10 amps should be fine) and join the wires together. Try to start the car by key without pushing the clutch in (make sure its in neutral). If it starts you have the right wires.
Possibility 2
pushing the clutch in breaks continuity. You can try cutting one and see if you can start it...make sure you will be able to join it back together after in case its not the right one.
Let us know which method you have, and what system you are putting in. Then I or someone else can tell you how to wire the relay.
I have th Viper 790 EX installed in my car. The alarm and remote start(pending). I am going to try what you lised. Thank you very much for the info. I'll let you guy know.
If it has two switches, the one that deactivates at the top of the pedal travel is for the cruise and bottom is the switch you want. Take the connector off of it, make sure you're in neutral, and hit the starter. If it starts, then you need to break continuity to bypass the switch. If it doesn't, then you apply either 12 volts or ground through the relay. You will find either one of those two on on one of the leads. You can either just bridge it permanently or you can then apply the relay with the appropriate signal.
Just a little different method than JWorm's, but the same result.
