Could a prox sensor be used under soft tonneau?Or would wind from the tonneau set it off.

Id mount it inside the rear window facing the back of the truck and have the field set up such that reaching just over the cover would trigger a warn away.

if the cover is tight (like a hard cover) you should be OK if it is loose (flapping in the wind) you will most likly get some false triggers
