I’m installing a Commando 550 Alarm/remote entry system in a 1997 Mazda protégé. According to the wire map this car has a single wire door lock\unlock system. I’m not all too familiar with this system, I’ve been looking around and am curious if the " Nissan's Single Wire '91-'95 using 1relay and 1 diode " is the proper way to wire this? If not can you point me in the right direction.             Thanks for your help.

Some units require a Stronger GROUND from thier Lock / Unlock wires, inwhich you would need 2 Relays:

Lock requires negative trigger through a 4.7K resistor, Unlock requires a negative trigger to the same wire.

2 SPDT RELAYS:

LOCK:
PIN 87 = Ground
PIN 30 = 4.7 ohm Resistor to Vehicles WHITE / Blue wire
PIN 85 = Negative Lock Output Cammando
PIN 86 = Constant 12 volt ( + )

UNLOCK:
PIN 87 = Ground
PIN 30 = to Vehicles WHITE / Blue wire
PIN 85 = Negative UNLock Output Cammando
PIN 86 = Constant 12 volt ( + )

The wire map says 1k resistor is it suposed to be 4.7k?

You will need to run the relays. Run the resistance as the wiring guide calls for, if it doesn't work then u need to play around with it until u get it right.

Awesome, Worked great. Thanks for the help.

Another quick question regarding the dome light.

200ma - coming from commando control module. - system on car.

Do I just hook the door switch and dome light wires up together to the BLACK/ red door switch wire? and if so do I need a relay for the dome light wire, or will 200ma be enough to function?

Thanks again

Usually you would want a Relay to supply the GROUND neccessary for Dome Light

PIN 87 = Ground
PIN 30 =  BLACK / Red wire
PIN 85 = Negative Dome Lite Output Cammando
PIN 86 = Constant 12 volt ( + )
