Hey guys, I got all of the stuff I need to put the viper in my civc, but just wondering if there are any special suprises, or unique things with this install. Also I installed the viper 771xv in my 2002 maxima, without any problems thanks to you guys, but I would like to hook up the horn instead of that siren that comes with it. Any of you done this before, or know where I can find info on how to do this. Thanks again in advance guys!

There's nothing really spectacularly hard about the civic. Actually it's really easy you can get almost all of the wiring at the factory alarm plug. That plug is the green plug behind the radio. As for hooking the alarm up to honk the horn instead of the siren you'll need a relay wire up as follows. 85 and 87 go to ground. 86 to the horn output of the 771. Finally 30 goes to the horn wire in the car. Then all you have to do is program the 771 to pulse the siren wire instead of constant output.

Hey guys, I just tried installing a Viper 771xv in a 97 honda civic, i followed the wire diagram according to the directed techs website, have everything plugged in but I have to power to the relay harness or the alarm brain. The blue status led is not blinking on the viper. and i don't belive that the relay harness has power either because when i try to start the car with a key it does nothing, only the door buzzer goes off. When I try the key it just sits there and doesn't turn anything on in any of the key positions. I hooked up all the red fused wires to the white wires by the ignition but I don't know if civics are speical or anything, PLEASE HELP!! Thanks

If the car does not start with the key recheck your connections. Did you hook up the starter kill? If so which way? When you said you turned the key and nothing turned on what do you mean by nothing? Blower motor? Dash lights? Please specify.
