The driver's door unlock first, you will have to cut the driver door motor unlock wire and hook up a relay to it. Then the connect the door lock and unlock wire from the switch to the alarm system with positive switching.  Have fun

I really need to know how to hook up the door locks using a 785 prestige alarm people can ya help...

The Van has Keyless entry and you must hit the unlock twice to open all of the doors once for the drivers door are there relays and were and hell how do i hook into them?

  • The RED unlock wire goes to the Driver's MOTOR wire ( TAN at the driver's kick panel ) and this connection is a + trigger .
  • Now the second unlock wire from the 785 RED / BLACK go to the WHITE wire in the driver's kick panel .
  • The lock on the 785 GREEN goes to the LIGHT BLUE wire on the van.
  • Check this link out https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/install_notes/Converting_Outputs.jpg and use the NEGATIVE------>POSITIVE OUTPUT diagram.

There is not a chip in the key.  This car uses a resistance type bypass.  The 555L will work.

Jeff were are these wires located at and do I need relays? or does the 785 handle this for me?

All these wires can be found at the driver's kick panel. You will need a relay for the RED unlock wire so you can convert the current from a (-) to a (+) in order to actuate the priority door lock.

Not like the Imports, but the  785 has alternating polarity door locks so that it can support both a (-) and a (+) door lock system. The driver priority system from the 785 is only a (-) trigger type, but the Astro Van requires a (+) trigger to actuate the driver door only, so you need a relay to convert the 1 wire, but no other relays are necessary for the other doors because the unit will take care of that for you.

The more I use this alarm the more I like it it seems to making the installs easier every year. is there any programing I will need to do or is it self sensing? dont wanna send a - when I need a + . sorry to sound so much like an rookie but when I quit last time I was using the 750 and most of the cars the people didnt want all of the extras so I am really rusty, that and it is a pain in the butt, installing with a screw driver and pliers because all of my good stuff was stolen.

OUCH !! Installing with a screwdriver : ) The diagram tells you what wire to use if it's a (+) or a (-) polarity wire. All you need to do is alternate the wire between the lock and unlock for either polarity. Check out the wiring diagram and check out the lock plug and you'll see what I mean.

Hey Jeff, I got another problem... the red from the 785 unlock stays 12 v+ all the time I got the group locks and group unlocks but the unlock for the driver only, is not working? any ideas? When I unlock with the keyless entry the unlock wire hits but the alarm seems to be backwards on this one wire help if ya can

This is what it says in the manual:

3 Pin Door Lock/Unlock Harness: (White Connector)

The Red and Green wires will provide either a pulsed ground output to the factory door lock control relay, or a pulsed + 12 volt output to the factory door lock control relay. In either case, the maximum current draw through these outputs must not exceed 300mA. The Red w/Black trace wire will provide a pulsed ground only, and will only provide an output when the unlock button of the transmitter is pressed a second time after a first unlock command was issued. This is used for second step unlock or all doors unlock in a two step circuit. In this arrangement, Red is used to control the drivers door unlock relay, and the RED / Black will be used to control unlock of all other doors.

You will probably need to program the wire for priority door unlock .

I need some assistance here in the next 30 minutes if possible this damn van is blowing my mind help.   ok here is the situation I have an aps 785 from prestige  the red wire from the alarm for unlock is 12+ and when I hir the button it goes to 0V I am trying to hook up a drivers unlock in a 2002 chevy van astro full size i have the doors locking wiht the green wire and when I hit the unlock nothing but I do have were it will unlock all when unlock/disarm is hit twice. just cant seem to get the damn drivers door to unlock by itself, this is getting hard because she is getting pissed at me for not finishing yet.

You need to attach the single pulse for the priority door lock to the unlock MOTOR wire of the driver's door. This will require a (+) pulse to actuate just the driver's door. Find this MOTOR wire TAN at the driver's kick panel and test it before attaching anything to it. After you have verified that this is the target wire, you must ensure that the RED wire is outputing a (+) pulsed signal. If it is not, then you must use a relay to convert the polarity.

Tell me what the wire tested ( RED one ) when you press the button once and also what you soldered to what pin on the relay. I will verify this whenyou post your response.

Did Audiovox tell you that you may have a bad CPU then if yours is not alternating polarity ?
