I'm adding a 508 sensor to a viper 791 and I'm curious why the wire harness has plugs on both ends? I realize you need to cut and tap into the mulitplex input but was wondering why DEI has a plug.

Because some of their systems have a built in shock sensor and a plug for extra sensors.  Were you to be using one of those systems you'd be able to just plug the motion sensor in.

some of their security models have shock sensors built into the brain and have a multiplex port that you can plug into that provides power ground and the trigger input.
