I'm getting ready to install a RS in my 04 Colorado and have a PLXR. Where does the brown wire connect to?

this is what it says-
brown (-) to: ground out from remote start
               connect after programing is complete

HUH?

This goes tot he wire that goes to ground when remote started. Most likely a status output/Ground when running/3rd ignition output. It has many names but just look for a wire that goes to ground only when remote started.

There should be a wire on the harness that is designated to output a (-) trigger during remote start. I'm not familiar with these systems, but look at the install manual and look in the wire descriptions & find a wire that has this characteristic.

That would be the Satellite Port:
Next to White 10 PIN Port
Blue - Red - Green 3 PIN Plug
BLUE wire for Negative Ignition Out

I put and RS in my colorado today and when I was done I went to a local shop and the guy there tried telling me that my ignition harness is going to fry! He said he has done many colorados and used a PLXR and all of the have fried within a month and he knows lots of other installers with the same problem. He said it's just a known fact that you don't put a RS in these vehicals. He said that the PLXR is unreliable and once it **** up it will fry the whole ign.harness.

Has anyone else encountered or heard of this? It's got me worried and might have to take out my RS.

I have dozens of colorado's out there with PLXR's.

none have ever had problems.

the first batch of plxr's would sometimes lock up, but a quick reset and they were on the way.

I have done 20 + of these systems and none have had returns. The only problem I had was last year when the Pursuit came out and there was a wire that needed a resistor inline, but that was all.

I have a Omega Max-E in a 2004 colorado. The only I have no alarm triggers hooked up execpt for the negative door pin wire is hooked to my - dome light activation. at first I though I was just hitting panic button in my pocket, then it went of at the same minute I got a text on my phone that was in the car. I've tested this a bunch of times with no luck. It has never gone off during the night at home. only at work. I always park in front of a big high voltage cabinet if that could have anything to do w/ it.

just went off again! what the hell. it doesn't make any sense to me. when it goes off my remote says the door is open. the door pin wire is hooked to the dome light, which did not come on. but if I hit the panic it says the door is open too.

I have no shock sensor hooked up or anything

The problem may be due to the truck's BCM sending a false signal out on the door pin wires. There are two doorpin wires at the BCM. There is a gray/black for the driver's door and a BLACK/ white for all the other doors. These must be diode isolated from each other. You may also want to diode isolate each one from the BCM as well to prevent any false signal. The false signal won't be enough to activate the dome light, but can cause the alarm to false.

I installed a Omega Max on my colorado and my dome light doesn't go off when I lock the doors like it does w/ the factory fob. I didn't hook up the dome supervision so that can't be keeping it on. It goes off eventually.

BCM is going to sleep and sending a false singal problay.  I would use a  relay circuit to trigger the door pin wire of the Remote Start/Alarm.  I have had this problem before with Standard cars with a remote start in them if you left the car for 15 mins the BCM would go to sleep and just monitor the doorpin.  this cause the remote start to think the door had been opened and knock it out of ready mode.
