When your doing trunk release and a car has an electric lock for the trunk, do you need a relay and how do you wire this? If your going to use an actuator can someone give me the connections for the relay in this case too.

the alarm  brain will more than likely give out a negative trigger for trunk release\

if your cars trunk release wire is negative you don't need a relay

if your cars trunk release wire is positive than you will need relays

Hard to answer your question without knowing what kind of car and what kind of system you want to put in.  I will do my best.  Assuming your system has a negative trunk output since most of them do.  If your car has a low current trunk relase wire then you can hook the output wire directly to this.  If it's high current negative or positive then you'll need a relay.  For high current negative relay get wired as follows:  85 to trunk release output of alarm.  86 to constant + 12volts. 87 to ground.  Finally 30 to the release wirein the car.  For positive systems change the above set up 87 from ground to +12 volts.  This is how you'd have to wire it up if your using an aftermarket solenoid to pop your trunk.
