I recently had a Viper ESP550 Remote Start/Alarm with keyless installed on my wifes 2006 camry (base model) and the ABS light is on. I took it to the toyota dealership and they determined that is is a result from the remote start system. I got a refund from the shop that installed it but would like to know what is causing it so that I can maybe give the installer the fixes it a heads up. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did he fire up a second starter wire? Small BLACK / YELLOW? Did he use the other BLACK / YELLOW accessory? I'll check the astrochart when I get to work for the 2006 camry... If I can come up with something and he has also done this then i'd suggest to have him pull it all out and bring it back to factory specs. no cut wire (if he had to for whatever reason?) and see if the problem still happens. If it does the toyota garage will no longer have the starter to blame and it will be much easier for them to diagnose the problem. Does the light stay on constantly? If it shuts off when you put the key in and turn it on sometimes installers say this is (normal) when it isn't really... Ask him if he soldered the wires? Maybe if he used a conector like a t-tap it cut a few wires and the cars computer isn't seeing a strong enough brake signal? But you'd think it'd affect your braking if this was the case? I'm trying to think of anything I can because i've heard some crazy stories from customers that mechanics had told them about certain vehicle wiring. Good luck and i'll try and check that in a few hours when I get to work.

Sounds like he missed an ignition to me. The 2nd starter won't throw an ABS error, it just won't crank when it's colder outside.
