I am installing a Code Alarm 645 alarm/remote starter (i know, its code, but its all i can afford right now). I got everything in except for the parking light wire. Its in a 98 Kia Sephia. I used the DLRK for the actuators for the doors, but the problem is with arming and disarming. Its not chirping, which is probably just the programming, but the main thing is that the alarm goes off everytime i try to remote start it. What causes this? My ground is perfect, and no wires are touching. What can be the issue? I am calling Code tomorrow, but I was hoping to get some insight beforehand.

Also, how do I re-enable the chirping on arm/disarm?
Thanks

Is the factory alarm going off or is the code alarm going off? If its the fac. then you need to dis-arm the fac. alarm during remote starting. And if its the aftermarket alarm check your connections

no factory alarm. Its the code alarm itself. I went through all of the connections, and they seem fine. What connection would cause this problem though? It wouldnt be the parking light wire would it? Also since it is an all-in-one unit, there shouldnt be any wire that deactivates the alarm for the remote start. Is there any special thing I should change when programming it? I have the RF Programmer, and there are some things that Im not sure about.
Thanks

Alright, well I called Code and we got the problem fixed. It turns out that if the battery voltage drops below 9 volts, it sets off the alarm. Since my battery is very old (sat in the car for about a year and half while the car was being repaired... never charged) the voltage was dropping to about 7 volts when it cranked. I checked it by jumping my car to another and then remote started it and everythign worked perfectly.
Now I just have one more question. I have consulted both Wire Magic (junk, i know) and directechs, and still cannot seem to find the parking light wire. It says that the parking lights are negative, so I put the fuse in the brain of the code alarm to the low setting for a negative polarity parking lights. However, they still do not work. In addition, I also now have no parking lights on my left side. Anyone have any ideas as to what wire I need, and how do I test the wire properly?
Thanks

i never got the park lights on my '00 Kia Sephia to work right using an Autopage RS720LCD or RS655

i also had to rig the park lights on that car b/c they weren't working from the switch. so i had to install an external switch in the dash. and even when i connected the alarm (+) park light output to the external switch, i couldn't get the park lights to work.

never figured out that B.S.

well i do know that the parking lights are a negative polarity...what that means, I have no clue, but thats what they are. Thats why running a 12v source to them wouldnt work. Any help with whats going on? If not i'll just have to mess around a little bit.
Thanks

update: well i just went back onto directechs, and it says that the parking lights are positive and at the switch (must have entered something wrong when i checked before), so Im going to go check that tomorrow and I'll post up the results.
