I'm putting a neon in my grill but i only want it to come o with the light output on the alarm how do i diode isolate it so it doesn't get power when i cut my parking lights on.

so you want it to flash when your alarm parking lights go on? or stay constant? you will need to isolate it by a relay not by a diode.

which way should i i have the cathode side. i'm putting the diode in line with the parking light output from the alarm but i want to make sure that when i cut the parking lights on from the light switch the neon doesn't cut on

the diode, cathode side facing toward the alarm or parking light switch and before or after the relay, i' assuming after right.

the neon is fast to cut on the moment it gets power.
