On the 2005 chevy avalanche I am using the 457G, just wondering if I use the the grey/black wire, I don't think I do

I think I use the green wire cause the car has negative doorpins

I am doing a remote start/alarm

The grey/black needs to go to the domelight wire in the truck (coincidently, its grey/black). The 457G takes the (+) trigger from the domelight and sends it back out as a (-) thru the green wire. The green wire then goes to the (-) door trigger input on the alarm.

The 457G will prevent the alarm from seeing the door 'open' when it really isn't. You may have noticed your truck turns the domelight on when you shut it off. Some alarms (older DEI, or non-DEI) will falsely trigger when you shut the truck off by remote or the run time expires because the domelight turns on.
