I have a compustar 2wss-as  unit in my ford contour svt, manual transmission,  with a buried key inside my vehicle. My question is, after i remove the key from ignition, step on my brake, it turns my vehicle off, I understand this is normal, but the issue Im having is, my electronics in the car all still work.  Wipers, sunroof, power windows, my door switches stay illuminated, all work with the key out of the ignition  ........and as a result, my battery is dead the next day.  has anyone experienced this problem?  A defective brain, or is it the buried key to my ignition?

ah that will not help you what I posted, I thought maybe you just had the alarm/starter just put in and this is what was happening

I have the same alarm in a 2005 Ford and when I pull the key out of the ignition my stereo stays on, I know there is a way to fix this but I am to busy working on customers cars

I will get around to it though

Seems like my car (thinks) the key is turned ON or something.  Really wierd and troublesome.  Guess Ill have to wait till payday to bring it in. What do you think would happen if I unplugged the Compustar Brain?  I tried unplugging the buried key and it still keeps happening......after I unplugged the buried key my FORD security light blinked and i couldnt start it, had to unplug the battery, plug in the Buried Key, then connect my battery to get around the Ford Security thing.....This really sucks. I wish I  could just unplug the whole Ford Transponder Key thing altogether.

is your car a manual or automatic,

if its manual the brain goes into reservation mode and the car keeps running when you take the key out, this is when the accessories stay on RIGHT?

this is when my radio stays on also, but since you have mentioed it I am going to see if my wipers also stay on, cause I always shut everything off when I leave the car except for the heat

yeah, its a manual, wipers, even my heater motor wiill stay running if I dont shut it off....... Im also thinking my prob is the light blue/white brake wire......but i looked and probed it and everything is fine.....to make the situation worse, my car wont even shut off when i step on the brake IT STAYS RUNNING!!  To shut my car off I have to put it in gear and kill my engine by letting the clutch out!!!!!! I have to get this looked at or something This is driving me crazy!

yeah i know in reservation mode after i take the key out, my accesories are working, but this is happening after I take the key out and step on the brake, and/or  open and close my door, my car stays running and it wont shut off.  What do you think would happen if I unplug the Compustar Brain Would this bypass the buried key??

Okay, now I messed around with my alarm, now, the engine wont shut off.  Does anyone know where in the electrical system this could happen? The car keeps running, my accessories are ALWAYS on, I cant turn them off.  Can someone help me ?

So I brought it in to the place that hooked it up, they couldnt figure out what it was... then I brought it in to FORD, they said it looked like a mess down there after they charged me for 1 hour, The mechanic told me to get rid of all the alarm wires, he couldnt figure out what it was.......now I have the car back and wondering if anyone has had this happen, its not the ignition switch, I pulled the ignition  harness and my car keeps running.  ive read my vehicle schematics and all, could someone tell me If they might have removed a couple stock wires for the remote start to work OR do they just splice in and could the relays be bad? Or could someone tell me how the compustar remote start relays are hooked up in my car?

Its a 98...check his sig.

If you unplug the brain and the accessories stay on, its probably a problem with the ignition switch, or a relay locked up somewhere in the car. If you unplug the brain and the accessories shut off, its a locked up relay in the brain.

the place where I got  the alarm installed at removed the brain, so now  I just have the relays and all wires going to my stock wiring. Im wondering if its a stuck relay?  could that happen?  im going to remove the wiring tomorow.  And see what happens.  anything i should watch out for?

Well, I completely took out my alarm, and presto, it all works like normal, I said to my self, I should just go buy two new relays for my alarm, but, I was too lazy.  I think that is what the problem  was.  So now I took out all wires and have to go have someone put it back in again.  I have a new found respect for all electronics installers again.  I see how much work is put in to a Compustar Install.  WOW.  To everyone reading this, thank you all for doing what you do. If anyone is from Minnesota, could you drop me a line? Or could you tell me a good place to have this alarm put in again, OR is there a better choice of ALARM? or is compustar top of the line, it just has its hiccups?
