What the heck does FOB stand for as it relates to a keyless entry. I just dont get it.

I don't think it's an acrinum <sp>

A fob is commonly refered to as a small transponder attached to your key chain, when you insert your keys in the ignition, it's in close enough proximity to the ring mounted behind the plastic of the collum, and the car starts. Ever seen a Mobile One Speed Pass? About the same as a small AA battery in size. No buttons, just a dangly thingy.
