I put a dei keyless entry into a 2003 Hyundai accent complete with driver door actuator...the problem is that occasionally when in drive the locks will keep locking and unlocking at consistent intervals.  I don't know if the unit itself isn't progamed correctly or if there is a conflict with the system...any insight?

I am sure it is the alarm module which you should change as i have experienced similar problem in another vehicle.

is it a setting or an actuall defect in the unit?

possibly a bad actuator, I had the same problem in my 04 Hyundai Tiburon. Dealer replaced the actuator and its fine again

It would be an actual defect in the unit but i would also turn off start lock feature in the alarm which would prevent the doors locking and unlocking when you start of shut off your car
