Subject: Alarm Goes Off Like Clock Work Every 45 m

I just instaled a Fusion F-2000 in my '04 F150 Heritage. Everything was installed as it should be except the valet swith and the engine disable portion, don't really have a use for the valet switch and don't care to have the engine disable feature.

What I don't understand is this thing goes off like clocwork every 45 mins. You can set your watch by the damned thing.

Any suggestions ?

Yeah it's the GEM module in the truck falling asleep the thing sets a pulse down the door trigger lines which the alarm reads as someone opening the doors so here's how to fix it.

what is happening is your alarm is false triggering cause on the new fords and the gem module shuts down I believe and inturn the alarm thinks the doors get opened, that is why your alarm is going off

you have to get each door trigger wire seperately and diode isolate

if you don't have factory keyless, left front door is BLACK / YELLOW and right front door is BLACK/ pink, these wires are located in the driver kick panel gray plug pin22 and 23

if you have factory keyless all wires are found in the BCM, left front is BLACK / YELLOW, right front is BLACK/ pink, left rear is BLACK/ lt.blue, and right rear is black.white

all wires have to be diode isolated

The problem may be due to a false signal coming back down your door pin wire circuits from the body computer. Try installing diodes on the lines to prevent this. Most alarms can indicate by some means which zone triggered the alarm to sound. This will help you diagnose the problem. The problem could also be your power source is going asleep and triggering the alarm.

or try this.

open driver door. turn the ignition on

hit unlock on the door switch 3 times

turn the ignition off.

hit unlock 3 times

turn the ignition on hit unlock 2 times.

the horn should honk if it works

this is a code from ford to shut off the GEM module and keep your problem from happening. It doesn't work on all fords so it may not work on yours.

Sounds kind of squirly, but I'll try this before ripping apart everything I just installed.

Thanks everyone for the help!

I'll let you know how it turns out.

I got the horn to honk, now I'll wait 45mins and see what happens.

mobile1 : No dice on the trick you mentioned, the thing still went off after 45mins. Thanks for the help though.

Now where's my wire cutters ?
