ReArm/ Disarm, lock/ unlock?

For some vehicles with OEM security system, I have the following questions:

1. When there is pulse at rearm wire, does it lock the car doors also?

2. When there is pulse at disarm wire, does it unlock the car doors also?

Or rearm and disarm is just acitve and deactive the OEM alarm only? Nothing is going to the door lock systems?

depends on the car and how it is hooked up...pick a vehicle, and I'll describe how it would work.

Every car is different. A Nissan will disarm on the first pulse, unlock on the second. Chrysler has two sets, one for just locks, one for arm/disarm, which will unlock on the second pulse. Toyota disarms and unlocks just the drivers door on the first pulse, second pulse unlocks all.

Unlock: brown,

Disarm: WHITE/ blue

First pulse on WHITE/ blue wire will disarm the OEM alarm but doesnt unlock the door, right?

TOYOTA: Lets use Corolla 2003 as example:

Unlock: blue

Disarm: blue/black

First pulse on blue/black wire will disarm the OEM alarm , and  unlock the drive door, right?

Second pulse on blue/black wire will  unlock the other doors, right?

The Nissan Altima with OEM alarm you need to double pulse the WHITE/ BLUE wire in the drivers door at the switch. A single pulse will disarm and a 2nd pulse will unlock all doors. The BROWN wire is the unlock wire found on Altima's without OEM alarm and requires only a single pulse to unlock the doors.

Thanks for your help.

I have other questions now.

Nissan: lets use ALTMA 2002 as example:
Disarm: WHITE/ blue

When press "remote start" button, there is a pulse on WHITE/ blue , right? after engine is started. then there is another pulse on REARM wire, right? Now, the OEM alarm is on the arm mode.

Now, ignition has power. it is hot.  So, why doesnt the OEM alarm go off because it detects keyon signal now?

The alarm doesn't react because the ignition is already on, and won't rearm at all. Even if you pulse arm on an Altima, it stays off because the car is running. FYI, new altimas don't need a disarm hooked up at all to remote start. They will automatically disarm when the ignition is turned on, even if it doesn't detect a key in the cylinder(kinda dumb, huh?). All new Nissans are this way. New Toyotas(say, sequoia) needs to see that key in the ignition and knows to disarm when started.

Thanks Mike. seems your points are right.

But, if rearm wire is not necessary after remote started, why do all of compustar's remote starters send a pulse on rearm wire after remote started? Is it for locking the doors?

And how about the BENZ C280 1996, my friend told me if there is pulse on "disarm", the car doors are unlock.  Is it truth?

Now that's an unusual car, and a good reason to have a pulse after start wire. On a C280 you pulse before start the unlock to disarm and unlock, then pulse after start to relock. The alarm doesn't rearm because the ignition is on. We do this on certain Accords also to avoid having to get a disarm inside the drivers door.
