When I installed my Viper 791XV I cheated on the door sense and tied into the dome light. All works except obviously I get the door open chirp if I dont wait the 30 sec. for the dome light to turn off.
I turned off the Viper option for the ignition dome light delay but I want to disable the OEM dome light delay so I can keep my "door open chirp."
I've caught myself several times leaving the door half latched on the driver& pass door so the arm & chirp if door is not fully latched is kinda handy for me and I like to keep that option/feature.
Any know of anything??
Turn the key to ON
Hop on one foot three times
Push the cigar lighter in and horn the horn twice !!!
THANX

Its an '03.
I just got off ford-trucks.com forum and looks like there is no way to shut off the delay lights short of snipping wires from the GEM.

You can lock and arm with NO DELAY by triggering the red, and yellow wires on the keyless module at the same time NEG(-) diode isolate. There are 2 plugs in the keyless unit under the dash, these 2 wires are in the larger of the two plugs they are just above the clip that releases the plug.

Sweet !!!
Hows that work? Does it emulate the lock/arm button being hit twice on the factory FOB?
I know thats supposed to work and I thought too of wiring in the factory rearm and hit arm twice on the Viper. I have the disarm wired to wake up the GEM but never went any further in wiring the rearm.
The keyless module. Thats the one way up there mounted on the firewall right?
THANX a ton

go to the individual door pins, BLACK / YELLOW and BLACK/ pink at the GEM or in each kick panel.

I was going to, normally I do, but after reading the nightmare of the GEM pulsing every 45 min and the pile of diodes needed to isolate it off I figured it would be a lot simpler to tie into the dome. One wire Done...

Why not set the arming to delay for 30 seconds? The doors will still lock, it just won't start looking for a trigger until 30 seconds later.

can't change arming delay on the 791. As for the problem with the diodes.... you only need 4 of them that's not a lot is it?

I found out you can turn the interior dimmer all the way down and it'll cut the dome delay to just a few seconds. It'll be good enough for now until the weather warms back up. single digits for lows tonight !!

Its just an XLT so no key pad. So that means no go on the red and yellow at the wireless module?
No big deal theres allways door triggers.
