Had a truck in the shop the other day...2002 Ford F250 Diesel....Customer says that while driving the door ajar indicator will come on/flash...I tested the car for the GEM module sleep mode but the locks did not fall asleep...so I did not hook up a relay to interface with that...does anyone know what the deal could be??

Is the domelight coming on when the door ajar light comes on?

Our shop pickup does the same thing and it has no remote start or alarm.Something is screwy in the door switch assy.

Russ- These trucks are notorious for doing this. As a first step try spraying WD-40 with the small tube extension on into the door latch you suspect of having the problem, or all of them if your not sure. The switches corrode easily, and this usually solves the problem.

So you guys think that this is just coincidence...He is bringing the car back tomorrow for me to check out but I told him we dont touch the door triggers for anything during a remote start/keyless...So, I will check the truck out and see if I can spray some lube into the door latch...Thanks

One indication that it is more than likely the latch is that the domelight will come and the vehicle will act as though a door has been left open, even though you're sure that all the doors are properly closed. That's why I asked if the domelight was coming on when the door ajar light came on. Also if you had any of the door panels off during the install, go back and make sure that you didn't accidentally put a panel on slightly wrong and it's preventing the door from closing completely.

I bet the customer doesn't think so............

If you were near the GEM or Light Switch.............I would double check ALL Plugs Factory & R / S prior to lubing the Locks............

It goes without saying that you ALWAYS recheck your work FIRST.

Ok I checked the lock wires and everything else, doorlocks do not work and door ajar light stays on, I opened all doors sprayed all the latches and closed every door and it started working, let the car sit in the shop overnight and everything worked fine hourly and in the morning. Customer picked up the truck, drove it 2 days and came back with the same problem, the truck GEM module does not fall asleep so I didnt wire in a relay for the locks/door trigger as needed on some other trucks, I tapped the lock wires in the driver kick to WHITE/ red and BLACK/ white I dont know what else to do with this thing...any ideas PLEASE HELP!!

Just for clarification. Is it just the dashlight that's coming on? Or, is the domelight coming on when the dashlight comes on? When the dashlight comes on, is it blinking in a pattern, as though it were a code? Or, is the light coming on as though it is getting intermittent power when it shouldn't? And last, did you try a different alarm brain, just to rule-out the possibility that the brain is bad?
