I bought this off of E-bay and was thinking of wiring it into my 05 Ford Escape a bit different than the directions. Any input would be very helpfull.
It tells me to find the wires going to the parking lights, low beams. and high beams and hook the control into these wires as follows.

What I was thinking of doing was to use a 12 volt DC double pole single throw relay and having one of the wires on the control (either the white, orange or yellow pull in the coil on the realy and hook the normaly open contact into the headlight switch wires # 3 and 4.That is if I can acsess the wires to the headlight switch, I havent tryed to acsess them yet.

I forgot somthing, sorry,

Are they switching the ground on the headlight switch? It appairs the common point of the switch is the ground. Im a electrician but I tell you they do things really funky in the aut industry.

Your diagram seems to be chopped off- is that all there is to it?

So the Smart Junction Box is what you bought, and that diagram is of a factory installation? It doesn't show the connections to the lights, I assume they're just not shown.
It looks like all the controls are just done by ground switching.
Probably can use relays or transistors to provide the ground signals to the module; depends on what functions you want to implement.

Correct, the lights are not shown. They also come out of the smart j-box.

I did some playing around today, I located the wires on the headlight switch and conected a wire to the WH-B wire. The wire on terminals 3 and 4. I then connect this wire to the chassie ground, Bingo! all the lights came on. Now all I have to to is conect this to a realy and have the after market device control the 12v coil on the relay.

I will let you know how I make out.
