I am looking at a '98 Suzuki Sidekick that has a Viper 130XV unit installed. One problem: the folks that are selling the Sidekick have no clue as to where the keychain keypads for the Viper unit went. Also, the doors won't stay unlocked. As soon as you unlock the doors from the door button, they lock immediately. I am guessing that this is something having to do with the keyless entry feature on the Viper unit.
Can anyone offer a suggestion of how I can disable the Viper unit and restore normal door lock function without a keypad? If this turns out to be an easily fixable problem, I may buy this vehicle (why not...easy on gas and good in snow).
Any help you folks can offer up would do me great. Thanks!
First of all if you're going to keep the alarm you need to erase all keypads on there so nobody has access to your vehicle. Then you need to program the remote that you buy. As far as the locks go, I would find the wires and check them out. Could be poor wiring connections on the door lock circuits.

Hi! the sidekick 98 door lock wire color is pink for lock (-)
pink/black for unlock (-)
check on viper module , usaly the wiring is print on back of module viper as +/- polarity for door lock so use diode to keep only the - polarity that may fix the problem!

Hi! to check if the problem is not cause by the alarm cut the door lock wire that come from the alarm I think the color are blue and green and it's a plug in connector so just unplug it to check!
