I have a 2002 Mustang GT (manual if that matters). I was wondering about a new alarm. Should I buy a completely new alarm system, which is what I will most likely end up doing. OR! Well, I dont even think there is another option. Ha.
1) Where is the stock alarm? I think its next to the steering shaft under the dash.. not sure. Dont want to pull anything important.
2) How hard would it be to install a full 2way alarm, shock sensor, glass sensor, perimeter sensor, and hood lock? Maybe a pressure sensor in the front seats.
3) What would be a good car starter for a 2001 Lincoln LS?
Any answer will be greatly appreciated!

stock alarm is in the bcm above driver kick so you can't remove it & a 2 way alarm is the same as a regular alarm just usually have an antenna to put on the windshield. hood lock is not needed just a personal preference. as for the ls i use magnadyne products they work well others here will say dei or a couple of others they are all pretty equal just personal preference.

Thanks! I have another question, do you know if I could buy the new alarm and just plug the harness in, or do I have to splice the wires and so forth?
What is the best 2way alarm in your terms?

Hey Kyle, nice name by the way. I have a Viper V790xv 2-way system that I am installing in my 2002 Mustang GT so if you need any assistance ill be glad to share my experiences, and what little I do know. I currenlty have the alarm part hooked up and and working now on the remote start portion of it. To answer your question, to the best of my knowledge you would have to splice the wires. That is what I have had to do in mine. I am not familiar with any harnesses available, maybe someone else would know? Good Luck, Kyle

rrspyder, is yours a manual or auto? Its great to know someone else has the same car, so they will know more than I do so far. If you have Aol Instanst Messanger, message me at blue02pony.
