i need to know what kind of relay setup i need to use on a 2003 grand am it uses the same wire for locking and unlocking. lock uses a negative pulse and unlock uses a negative pulse through a 1500 ohm resistor. i need to know how to set up the realays includiding what each post on a reay would need to be

Well first i'm going to run under the impression that the system you're installing provides a negative lock/unlock out put. So here it goes.
Relay 1: 85 goes to the lock output of the system. 86 goes to constant +12volts. 87 goes to ground. and pin 30 goes to the wire in the car.
relay 2: 85 goes to the unlock output of the system. 86 goes to constant +12volts. 87 goes to ground. finally 30 is where you want to solder the resistor inline. Take a short wire hook to the pin of the relay. Then solder one side of the resistor to that wire. Next take another piece of wire and solder it to the other side of the resistor. Finally hook that wire up to the wire in the car.
