I just want someone to verify that I am correct in my research before I go messing with the wires:

To disable the factory alarm outright, I just tie the Factory Disarm (-) wire to a ground point, correct? I am referencing 1995-97 Ford Mustang Alarm Information

I am NOT installing another security system, I just want to disable the factory one because it is a huge pain in the ass and doesn't deter shhh.

Thanks in advance for anyone who helps me out here.

That will disarm the system, just make sure it doesn't unlock the door while disarming. You may want to put a toggle switch in-line just in case you want to use the OEM alarm.

Is it the OEM alarm or is it a dealer add on alarm?
Is the sound from the alarm a siren or the horn?
What are the problems you are currently experiencing?

@secureauto: Thanks, that is what I was looking for. I will make it switchable most likely.

@auex: It is the OEM alarm. The sound comes from the horn. Basically the system seems to be triggered by trivial or pointless things, such as when the windows are down and you press the unlock button inside the door, the alarm goes off when you open the door. Also, it is kind of a pain in the ass to get it to shut off. My key fobs don't shut it off no matter what you press (the batteries are fine) and it doesn't always go off when I put a key in the ignition and turn it on. I am not sure how much of that is normal behavior, but basically I have absolutely no need for an alarm so all it does is cause me headaches.

Thanks for the responses.
