I purchased a Omega Max alarm and remote start earlier, of which I cannot find the manuals. Can someone show me a link to the PDF or tell me the procedure to change my alarm to Voltage sensing instead of Tach sensing, and also how to "learn" the system of this change. The first part may be solved because I went to the omega site and downloaded a similar owners' manual (Omega Max-E),but the "learning" process is in said to be in the installation manual that I do not have or have not found yet. I sent an email to Omega as well, but can someone here help me with it or have the knowledge and/or the PDFs for the required file?

The main reason for this is because ever since I installed this in my Toyota Highlander, its been starting 9 out of 10 times, on the second start attempt.
Thanks.

BLACK / Yellow Tach wire:

TACH:
1. Turn Ignition switch ON then OFF
2. Within 5 Seconds, Press the BRAKE Pedal 5 Times
3. Use the Key to Start Engine, Siren will Chirp to indicate TACH Learning Mode
4. When Status Light turns GREEN the TACH Signal is Learned.

Thanks for the response. If I do the reverse, moving away from tach to voltage sensing, do I need to "learn" the system about the voltage changing or do I just change setting 44 to Lock and I am all set? Or does the learning happen even when voltage sensing, the same way as tach sensing?

If you have changed Feature # 34 to TACH ....Then you will have to Reprogram back to Voltage Sense

1. Turn Ignition OFF
2. Press Valet Switch 5 Times....Should get Siren Chirp, then Siren Sound & Status Light Flashes Red.
3. Press Valet Switch the SAME Number of times as Feature wanted.
4. Press Transmitter LOCK for Tachless

Appreciate all your help.

I went back to tach after trying tachless for a day, since I had the same problem (vehicle starts mostly on second crank) with voltage sensing as tach sensing.

It is very interesting that I solved my problem completely. My remote start was always starting on the second crack 90 percent of the times for the last year or more (since I purchased and installed the OmegaMax). I even added satellite relays to make sure I power the two separate ignitions with separate circuits. In any case, I ended up dissapointed as the problem kept following no matter what. Just last week, I decided to go Tachless and had no benefit at all. Then I went back to Tach (the recommended and 'better' mode) and finally after re-training my remote-start brain, my car ALWAYS starts on the first crank, even if it be very cold days like last week, or less severe cold like last couple of days. I hear the crank taking about 2 seconds on severaly cold days, and yet, it starts on the first try! On other days, its been starting almost in 1 second or less. Just like starting it with the ignition key. Training the brain properly was the trick and I am a very happy man now. It makes me smile to see my car start on the first crank, after struggling with it for over a year.
