Hey ive been searching everywhere that i can but im new to this alarm installation process and need some help ASAP. Im trying to install the Code Alarm CA 425 and 545 on my 2000 Honda Civic Si, Ive never done an alarm or remote start so any wire diagrams and helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.

do you have the original install guide? Are you just looking for wiring info for your vehicle? And before I get too far; the Si is manual trans, correct? The Code alarm unit is not set up to be used with a manual trans.

I just ordered the CA425 module so the wiring diagram should be in their correct? And yeah the tranny is manual. I just need to know all my options as far as what is possible for my car and this kit, like if i wont be able to make the remote start work due to the manual tranny and things like that. If there is any realistic way to make this unit work on my car id like to try, otherwise i just got totally screwed.... any input will be appreciated.

you won't be able to make the remote start part of this unit work properly (read: safely) on this car due to the transmission. Everything else will work just fine. The 545 is basically only the remote start wiring and the remotes. The brain(425) is the same from the most basic alarm up to the 2-way remote start alarm, they just sell the wiring separately; kinda goofy I know.

Ok I think i understand what your saying but let me try and clerify, so due to the danger of having my car in gear while using the remote start it is not recommended but it can be hooked up correct? Basically is it more of a safety factor than actually being possible? And are you aware that if by me purchasing the CA425 will that kit come with the main sensors and stuff to have a basic auto lock alarm setup? Sorry for any confusion i just dont want to spend more money on CA425 just to find out that there are a whole slew of other parts and sensors i need in order to have a basic security system on my car. Thanks for the info...

To answer all of your questions about this unit...yes. There is a wire on one of the harnesses of the 425 (blk/yel-) that you can use to bypass your clutch during remote start. The red safety switch can be turned off if you have to park your car on a hill, and want to leave it in gear. Also, you can hook up E-brake to (gry/blk-) on 22 pin harness and turn turbo timer on durinig programming, so that the vehicle is running via remote start every time you get out of it (for safety). Lock the doors, shut car off via remote control and walk away knowing the car is in neutral because it was just running under remote start. Also the 425 has a built in shock sensor as well as door, hood and trunk monitors for the alarm. Hope this helps. ------------- Keith

the unit does have a negative pulse during crank output; but it is not designed for use with manual trans. The 425 has the basic security features; but does not include wiring for remote start or remotes; those are included with the specifc level add-on that you purchase. So you cannot use the 425 alone; you need to purchase an add-on module with the features you desire.

Yeah sorry if i didnt mention that i have the CA545 package that i will be using along with the CA425 master module. All of your input has been greatly appreciated and im sure i will be back on in the next few days to ask more questions when it comes time to actually do the install.

If this is your first install for a remote starter/alarm system and your trying to make a automatic remote starter work on a manual transmission vehicle, your not going to get too much help on these forums. This has been a touchy subject in the past with other member's here and is not looked upon with open arms. Just giving you a heads up before you post for help next time.
