I want to put a remote start on my 2002 acura rsx base manual transmission and I want to attach it to the factory alarm (I don't want to buy a remote start/alarm). I found one on ebay for about 50 bucks, but he says I will need a bypass module in order for fuel to feed my car when it is remote started. He says he can sell me this for $20 more. Does this sound right? Does it sound like a reasonable price?

Hi! you will need a PKH3 module to bypass the immobilizer system is't about 20 buck canadian about the OEM alarm you can contol it wiht the remote starter and if you do it right you can remote start the car with the OEM alarm staying on you will need to cut the yellow wire with a relais at the alarm module. GOOD LOCK

I want to add a remote start to my 2002 acura rsx base with manual transmission. I want my factory alarm to work the remote starter, as in I want the factory remote to be able to start the car by pressing lock twice or three times. Can this be done with an average remote starter and just rewire the input signal, or are there special starters for this type of setup? Any recommendations? Also, can a normal remote starter for automatic transmission be used in manual transmission if some safety features are not used. I would think all I would need is a way to get around the clutch safety feature. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are add on remote starters out on the market for the application that your looking for, but I suggest getting a manual safe version as this will be less of a liability to you.

Just do it right. Factory keyless systems have very limited range. Get a manual safe unit and stop thinking your incapable of mistakes.

I havent ever done this before, I dont even know what mistakes I could make....thats why I asked in the first place. Im just thinking ease of installation and price, I dont want anything special. My factory keyless entry has a very strong range, are there any specific mistakes I need to make sure I avoid?
