Installing on a 2002 f150. Think i have wired it up properly, doors unlock with new remote, but when i goto autostart, the  parking lights flash 5 times, and the starter does not engage at all. I can hear the fuel pump turn on, but nothing else. I have also tried to install the PKF1 key bypass,(and i have to admit i am very confused with installing this)

The truck would not start with the key, so i unpluged the PKF1 and it starts now.(only with the key)

From my understanding with the PKF1 if it hooked up properly you just turn the ignition with the key in it, and it programs itself. , but i am guessing that even if i hooked up the PKF1 bypass wrong, the engine should crank over,(wont start), but should crank, and i am guessing with the parking lights flashing 5 times, that is telling me something.

I have installed 2 other prostart , but only on Chryslers,, and neither has this antithieft stuff on them.

Any ideas?...thanx

If you did not already, you must do a tach learn on the 3400 before it will attempt to start the  vehicle.

Well I think you are right. I went to the tach programming, tried to program it, but it would not, it is supposed to have your light flash 4 times to let me know it programmed, and it did not, everything else went fine. I have the 4.6 V8 in it, now i am just wondering if i hooked up the tach wire to the right spot. With the instructions i have, it says to hook up to the Green wire on the cam shaft sensor at front of engine, but i have hunted and found other instructions that say to  "goto any of the 8 ignition coils and use the wire that is NOT RED / green." maybe i will move the wire and see what happens, although i wouldnt think it should make a difference, but who know, thanx for the reply

Well she is up and running now, I had the tach wire on wrong, hooked it up to a coil, and bang, it worked. I got the instructions right from prostart, and theirs was wrong, and prostarts door unlock wires were backwards also. Installed the key bypass with no problems also,, that only took about 5 minutes of thinking, and 5 minutes to wire up. Was easier than i thought. I appriciate the responce also.

Funny thing is, I have installed 2 prostarts for friends of mine (not the 3400), and never had a problem. Seems i always run into problems working on my own vehicle.
