Alright, just installed a GMBL-BP into a bonneville. My problem is for those of you who have actually used this bypass kit.

It says in order to get into the mode you press the button till you get into the correct mode.

IE: 1 blink =mode 1

2 blinks=mode 2
ect..

I need to get into mode 2, but the problem is it will only blink 1 time for me.

Or it will blink 6 times. I click and hold the button and it goes into 1 blink mode, i click and hold again and it goes into 6 blink mode...

I called there tech support, he said check your ground.... (ARGGGHHH)

So I disconnected my lock/unlock/groundout while running/trunk wires.

The only wires I have hooked up are ground and positive and databus wire. Same problem. Anyone have this sort of trouble before, or does anyone have any solutions?

1.  Unplug GMDL-BP and wait for approx 15 minutes.  ( Be sure & Unplug it, not just unhook power. m)
2.  Be sure ALL your RS / Alarm connections are done & ready to go ( including Power wire for GMDL-BP & TACH if you are using )
3.  Be sure PURPLE DATA Wire is NOT hooked up.  Then Plug GMDL-BP in.
4.  Hook up PURPLE DATA Wire.
5.  Once GMDL-BP is plugged in, LED should be Flash 1 time, then off then Flash, etc., to indicate Type 1.
6.  Press & release Button to change to Type 2.  LED should Flash 2 times then off, then Flash, etc.
7.  Hold Down on Program Button, LED Blinks Once to save.
Start Vehicle with KEY,  LED should mturn OFF

If that does NOT work, and your GMDL-BP continues to do as you described, try:
Holding Program Button until LED Flashes Once, then try to program for Type 2 again.
Sometimes these units start in Feature Programming & you have to shut that off to get to Platform Program
These are Reliable Units

Your in program mode that is why you only get 1, 6 & 7 flashes. What you should do is reset the module ( go to 7 ) and then try to go through the programming sequence again. When you go into the selection of the system you only need to press the button momentarily , NOT for 2 seconds.

What I have found to be a problem with the GMDL-BP is that when you first try to program the system after you plugged in the harness and then connected the DATA wire is that the LED stays on solid no matter what you do. I figured out that if you turn on the ignition and turn it off after you connectedt the DATA wire, it will go into plateform selection mode.

Got it working, just so you guys know, the car sat for a few hours, the databus must have gone dead after a certain amount of time.

What I did was turn the key to the ignition position, and immediatly the unit began in programming mode 1. I do appreciate the tips both of you.

I use these modules like crazy....they have worked flawlessly. If you cannot get into vehicle type programming then all you have to do is push the button until you get to 7 flashes, grab a jumper wire from ground and momentarily touch the green lock wire on the module. Voila! back to vehicle type programming.

Hope this helps.
