I have a 1998 chevy 1500, and just installed an Alpha Guards alarm w/ remote start. When I tried the remote start, it cranked over and seemed as if it was about to start, but would shut off. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Do you have a bypass mod installed to get by the Passlock2 system?

Thanks for the fast response. As for the mod, no I don't. I didn't know I needed one. How difficult is this to do and what will I need to buy to do this?

Find a DEI dealer and get a 555L or 556L Passlock bypass. The wire you will need are in the steering column. The instructions provided are clear, you won't have any problems....
