I am installing a remote start on a 2003 Ford Taurus. It did not have factory keyless. I found lock and unlock wires in drivers kick. when using only remotes to actuate locks they work fine, but when I lock the vehicle from door lock switch and close the door after 30 sec. you cannot use the aftermarket remote to unlock. I tried to locate the factory disarm wire which my diagram says is pink/white in the drivers kick panel, but I couldn't find a pink/white wire. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanx

You can find the pink/white going into the fuse box. I believe its one of the harnesses plugged into the bottom.

pulse the door trigger wire during unlock and that will wake up the  door locking system.  Then the unlock/lock should start working again.

If the problem you are having is the doorlocks falling asleep, then the above post will work. You may need to program the unit to double pulse unlock. The first pulse will wake up the locks, the seconds pulse will unlock the doors.

I misread your original post. I thought you were triggering the alarm when you unlocked the doors with the aftermarket remote.

On another note, very few Taurus's have the 'sleepy locks' programmed ON from the factory. I believe how to turn that feature off should be in the car owners manual. Involves hitting the lock/unlock switch on the door a bunch of times.

I got the taurus back today. I spoke with a ford mechanic and he checked the build date and it is an early 2004 build. I double pulsed the unlock wire. The locks still go to sleep. In testing if I don't lock the doors with the factory switch on the door panel the keyless works fine. I talked to tech support and he had me try an double pulse the disarm wire it didn't work.

If the car does not have factory perimeter alarm, instead of the pink/white wire, there is a yellow black wire. its in the left kick kinda high coming out of the door jam boot.
