"Using the Songbird Option

The Code Alarm CA-640TM is equipped with a feature called “Songbird”. Songbird allows you to program different songs or tones similar to “ring tones” on a cellular phone. A song or tone can be programmed to almost any system function that has a vehicle horn or
siren response (ie: arm/disarm chirps, lite touch impact sensor, panic mode).

Functions that can’t be programmed with a Songbird tone:
1. Impact sensor override
2. Alarm trip ID

Turning Songbird On:

A) Using the 2-way tranceiver remote control, press the SET button, then press the LOCK button within 2 seconds.
B) Using the 1-way transmitter remote control, press both LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously.

The siren will emit a confirmation tone indicating that songbird is ON.

Selecting a Function and Songbird Tone/Song

1. Activate a function that you would like to set to a specific tone (ie: lite touch impact sensor is activated by striking the vehicle with an impact that would trigger a lite touch
response.

2. Within 10 seconds of activating the function:
a) On the 2-way tranceiver press SET, then press FIND/
PANIC within 2 seconds.
b) On the 1-way transmitter press START, then press FIND/PANIC within 2 seconds.

The siren will emit a confirmation tone indicating that you have entered the program mode.

3. Use the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons to advance up or down
through the different tones. Pressing the START button will play different versions and lengths of the tone you have selected.
4. When you have decided on a specific tone, press the FIND/PANIC button to lock that tone to the function, and exit programming.

The siren will emit a confirmation tone indicating that you have exited programming mode.

Turning Songbird OFF:

A) Using the 2-way tranceiver remote control, press the SET button, then press UNLOCK within 2 seconds.
B) Using the 1-way transmitter remote control, press both UNLOCK and FIND/PANIC buttons simultaneously.

The siren will emit a confirmation tone indicating that songbird has been turned off."

Have you had problems with your CA-640? My Code Systems Rep. gave me one a couple yrs ago. I installed it about 4 months after he gave it to me and It worked for 10 minutes after installing it and it died. I got a new module plugged it and it worked for 6 or 7 months and died. I then got rid of my Blazer pulled the module and installed it in my new truck just to see if it would work if not I would just get a new module again and the truck would be wired, but it  still didn't work. I talked to my rep and he said they had some problems with them and he had me give him the module, harness and remotes and is shipping me out a CA-670 and a CL-100 carlink .

The place that installed my alarm couldn't get the songbird to work at all.  He said he was going to call the rep and get a new one but they went out of business about a week later.  That was the only code alarm dealer in town so if something happens I am screwed.  I just ordered a new speaker for the songbird and I am going to try and hook it up myself.  Other than that I haven't had any problems.  Knock on wood!!
