Hey,

Well i bought a car and it had a clifford 2.5X already installed in it. Ive had the car for about 3 months now. It always worked, except sometimes when the car was unlocked the lock on the screen would still be "locked" but i figured it wa sjust a glitch or something.

Well today i went out unlocked my car, drove somewhere, locked it, came back and unlocked it. so it worked fine. I drive about an hour back home get out of the car go inside and come back out, go to unlock it and......... nothing. the car refuses to unlock, everytime i open it the alarm goes off, i cant start the car to move it...nothing. The remote beeps after i press unlock/lock like it always does, it transmits, receives then beeps.

Can anyone help me? Is there a common problem/fix ...would it be easier to try to uninstall the alarm?

How would i go about uninstalling it? is it difficult (im pretty skilled at working on cars, never tried anything with alarms before)

Thanks in advance!

kevin.

try unplugging the antenna connection at the antenna for about 5-10 minutes, then plug it back in.....

its a 1988 mazda rx7.

which one is the antenna connection? everything is so taped up in electrical tape i cant see anything, except the central box and where the connectors connect to the box.

for now i managed to figure out which fuse to pull so i can start and drive the car but id really like to still have an alarm.

there is one open spot on the central alarm box, i believe it was a 3-pin spot, couldnt find a connector that looked to plug in there, is there normally an unused spot?

The antenna should be up high in the car if it was installed properly. If you can't find the antenna. Try disconnecting power to the alarm for 30 seconds and plug it back up.

oh ok, im guessing the antenna is the black box with the two plastic lines running out of it horizontally, i will try disconnecting that, ive had the fuse removed for like two days now so we'll see what hap[pens.

am i going to have to reprogram my remote when i plug it back in? i have no manual or anything on this alarm it simply came pre-installed in the car.

thanks for all the help ill let you know how things go when i try it out later (at work now)

thanks,

kevin.
