I am going to be installing this and I had a question about some of the wiring.  This is for a 99 honda civic.

1.  On the 1st connector the (-) Violet "negative when armed out" wire.  What does it hook up to, or does it need hooked up?

2.  What do all the pins on connector 2 for.  Are they required for my car.  The wires are "(-) parking light output 200ma",  "(-) status out wire",  "(-) 2nd ignition 200ma out",  "(-) 2nd accessory 200ma out",  "(-) 2nd started 200ma out"?

3.  Where is a good place to splice into the (-) parking brake which is connector 3 pin 1?

4.  What is the stuff about the glow plug wire on connector 3?

5.  Finally Connector 5..... Pins 1 and 2, the Rearm and Disarm wire.   Where do they go?

I am sure I could get it all done, but I didn't get to work on it yet since it is snowing out.

1) Not 100% sure

2) don't need any, unless the vehicle uses a byapss module then you will need the (-)status wire  (which it doesn't)

3) don't use (-) parklights in the honda, it doesn't have one, use the (+) park lights, it is wire RED / black in the keyless module in driver kickpanel, or you can get it from the fusepanel

4) glow plug wire is for diesel

5) unless your car has a factory alarm you do not need these wires

If you are asking these questions I would double think what you are getting yourself into

This should be pre-wired to a starter disable relay with the YELLOW and the YELLOW/BLACK wire. Did you not get this relay with the rest of the wiring ? It's all pre-wired so you only need to connect the YELLOW and the YELLOW/BLACK to the starter wire that is cut.

You will need the 2nd IGN output ( GREEN at the CN2 harness ) and there is a 2nd relay on the CN1 harness that requires you to connect this GREEN wire to. The output of this relay goes tot he YELLOW wire in the ignition harness.

The (-) parking brake wire is located at the hand brake. There should be another location for this but I can't remember if it's in the driver's kick panel or by the OEM alarm plug ?

No required for the gasoline engines.

Not necessary unless you have an OEM remote, but even then just don't use the factory remote to arm & disarm the vehicle and the OEM alarm will not engage.

Thanks for your help.  I'll see how it goes next week.

Ok good with all the above.  Next Question....  Connector 3, pin 5 which goes to (-) door trigger.  The paper I have says to slice this into the light GREEN/ red wire on the OEM alarm plug.  But my car doesn't have the OEM alarm.  Where can I find this?

Also on connector 5, the two yellow wires, pins 6 and 7 are auxillary outputs.  It says they can be used for a timed pulse or hatch.  I am not planning on using them, but what would then be used for?

Last Question....

Velocity stated that that Pin 3 on the 2nd Connector should go to the relay off of Pin 3 on the 1st Connector which is a purple wire, which then should also be connected to the ignition wire on the ignition switch in my car.  Am I correct.

Then with Pin 4 on the 2nd Connector (-) 2nd Accessory 200mA output.  Above you stated not needed, but the manual says it should be connected to the purple wire off the relay from Pin 3 of the 1st Connector.  Do I need it?

Finally what is the Blue wire off the this same relay from Pin 3 from the 1st connector?  It is a heavy long wire, but there is nothing in the install manual about it?  What is it and where does it go?

to answer the first questions, the doorpin wires are at the factory alarm plug, your car will still have the green plug no matter if you have the alarm or not

it is high in the driver kick panel, usually taped to another set of wires

the aux channel wires can be used for say window roll up or window roll down and stuff like that, that you can add on to the alarm

So just leave the aux unhooked for now?

This is partially correct. You need to connect the GREEN CN2/Pin 3 wire to the PURPLE wire off the relay that has the larger BLUE wire. THis BLUE wire connects to your 2nd IGN wire ( YELLOW on the Civic ).

You do not need this connection . You don't have a 2nd ACC output on the Civic.

Read answer to first question.

Thanks again.  I am going to install this tomorrow.  Hope it goes well.

I started to sort though the wires and the installer that did my alarm 2 years ago did a terrible job.  Just spent 2 hours cutting all the zip-ties and organizing the mess.

This model is manual tranny specific.  Do I still need to bypass the clutch?

yes

I just have to cross the wires on the clutch switch, or do I have to wire it to the alarm.  I read that one person hooked it to the blue wire on the one relay, but he said it gave him problems.

do it properly and wire in a relay so that the clutch is only bypassed during remote start

use the (-)starter wire of of the alarm brain and wire a relay in

Can you give me any advice for this?  I never did anything with relays.  I am sure I can do it.  Where can I get one?

Nevermind.  I got it figured out.  I am going to hook it into the status output wire.

Thanks for the help guys.  I got it all done and it is working.  On my wiring diagram it said the trunk trigger was blue/black in the drivers kick.  But I can't find it.  Any body know where it is?

the blue/black wire is in the same plug where you got your doorpins

it is the green factory alarm plug hiher up in the driver kick panel

I'll have to look again.  That is where I was looking.  Maybe I'm going color blind.

I got the trunk trigger hooked up.  But now I can't arm the car.  It is giving me 3 flashes of the parking lights.  When I cut the wire, it works fine though.  Any thoughts?

For the same car, does anyone know forsure, the oem alarm arm/disarm wires (without door locks changing - need the car started, with doors locked and disarmed temporarily during start)?

thanks
