I need basic help with installing an eagle eye or TRC alarm. I take pride in doing things myself when possible. I added power locks with keyless entry a year ago and am now trying to install an alarm. The installation manual does not really give good installation details. I have a few questions about installing it. First of all, how do you check the door triggers? I have a - and a + trigger input from the alarm. Which would I use? And does it matter which wire from the trigger it is hooked to. The alarm I have has three on board relays one for dome light supervision, parking light flash and starter interrupt. There are two wires from the alarm that are identical and go to the dome light. The alarm has a single thick brown wire that is used for the starter interrupt. It also says I have to cut a wire. How does that hook up?

How do I determine if my door trigger is - or +? And my door trigger has two wires, which would I connect the alarm too?

My truck doesn't have power locks. I added aftermarket actuators myself. The alarm I have has an on board starter interrupt relay. The wire for it is a brown one, it says I have to cut a wire. what are they talking about, do I splice the brown loop inline with the wire that comes from the ignition to the starter relay?

You have (-) door triggers and to avoid dome delay, use tan for the drivers door and BLACK/ lt. blue for the passenger door. Both wires are located at the central timer module to the right side of the steering column. Use both wires and diode isolate each. As far as the actuators go, some systems have built inonboard relays designed to take the place of outboard relays to clean up the installation process. If your alarm has onboard relays for ADD ON ACTUATORS then you will need to remove the relays that you currently have and just use the ones on the alarm system. If there is nothing written about these onboard relays in the installation manual, then you will need to keep the relays that you had from the keyless entry and just tie into the alarm system's lock/unlock wires. The starter disable circuit has nothing to do with the door locks so leave this connction alone until you wish to install it.

Thanks for the help. I am not sure what you meant by "dome delay", but I did figure everything out through trial and error. I have learned that it is not very difficult to install an alarm. The instructions are so vague, that one would be very confused. Once you hook up the main wires and found the door trigger wires, you can go back and forth until you find the correct connection. This is a great site to get advice and help. Once again, thanks for the help

No problemo... some Dodge's have a delayed dome light where the dome light slowly fades away. In most cases you will not wait until the dome light fades before you arm the vehicle and walk away. If this is the case then when you are the system before the light is completely off, the alarm will false saying that the door is open.
