DOOR TRIGGER Find light blue for drivers door in pin 29, RED / blue for the passenger front door in pin 40, and RED / white for the rear doors in pin 28. Use all 3 wires and diode isolate each."

I'm sure there's a good reason, but I'm just curious.  If the alarm only has one door trigger input, I'm assuming you'd use a diode so you don't create continuity between the different door triggers wires in the car.  But why is this a big deal?  No matter which door gets opened, the dome light comes on, and the door open light on the dash illuminates, the factory alarm gets tripped.  Like I said, I'm just wondering.

It keeps other stuff working correctly, like the door chime. If you are talking about the 01 Maxima, you could just use the dome light wire instead. I can't remember the color, but if you pull down the light and test it you will find the same wire at the SECU. This way you have one wire for all doors, no diodes needed. I've done it many times and it works fine.

aonother reason is this. if you test these wires they are all not connected so they are independent. i am assuming you have a ford even though you did not list it. when it says diode isolate each that means you are actually connecting to the individual door triggers instead of the single dome light wire. some things that can happen if you dont diode isolate.

1 you connect to one wire out of three and onl wire or two doors work.
2-if armed and all doors work on that one wire if you have a ford when someone lifts door handel even if the car is locked dome light goes on and sets off alarm. plus if you have a remote start on this aftermarket alarm when you go to remote start it the domelight somtimes goes on and again alarm goes off.
3- you cant connect all three wires without diodes because they are sepperate for a reason. the drivers door as you know has a few functions besides open closed. it also controls chimes, like key sence left on lights etc. if you dont diode that most likely all doors will work these options when that is not what is intended.
4- the biggest reason to use diodes feedback you do not want to get feedback from another trigger. feedback can cause many problems too many to list.

I once had to diagnose a porblem with a dodge and the door triggers where hooked up wrong so what happened is when the person drove 15mph + the dome lights would go on and chimes would go off as if he had a door open even though they weren't so save your self future trouble do it right diode isolate in the right direction and connect wire then your done its a step that only takes a second.

ps dont wrap diode strand around door trigger wire. take a piece of wire about six inches long wrap that wire around door trigger wire than use a but connector to connect diode to six inch long piece of wire and than but connector to your alarm.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
