1990 Prelude with a Compustar 1WAM4R alarm installed.
Ordered pain generator sirens that will be getting installed. I was wondering, How do I hook up a trunk trigger in my car. Do I need to get trigger pins? There is a light that comes on in my trunk when I open the trunklid, is it possible to tie into this light as a trigger for the alarm? and how do I go about tieing into this light.
I have little to no alarm installation knowledge, but a good knowledge now of how to use relays, and most other parts of a cars electrical system

Trunk wire is GREEN/ black in the drivers kickpanel... ------------- Mike M2

So all that I have to do is wire a connection between this wire, and the wire that acts as a trigger for the alarm brain? Will this not make it so taht the door AND the trunk have to open for the alarm to go off?

I think that all that I have to do is bridge the wires (door/domelight trigger, and the trunk trigger) with a piece of wire and a diode attached. Is this correct?

This is what I got so far, reccomendations from a buddy:
Connect a 14 or 16awg wire to the negative trunk light lead wire, as close to the latch as possible. Run that wire down to the alarm and put a diode on the end, the annode end is on the trunk end of the wire, and the cathode end is on the alarm end of the wire. I will add more wire onto the cathode end of the wire and add a 5 amp fuse onto the wire then connect that wire into the NEGATIVE lead for the alarm.

You don't need to run a wire to the trunk, get it i the drivers kickpanel. Honda already ran it for you. If your alarm doesn't have a trunk trigger already(which it should!), run it to the door trigger. You will need to put a diode in both the wire to the trunk trigger and also the wire to the door trigger, bands facing away from the alarm.

So if there is a trunk tigger spot, do I just add a piece of wire with a diode in between the wire going to the trunk and the alarm module?

You don't need a doide at all if there's a trunk wire on your alrm. Just hook it up....

My car uses negative triggers. Do I still use the positive wire for the light and wire that into the alarm, or do I find the negative lead to the light (somewhere in the trunk latch) and run a wire into the alarm. Ive never looked at an alarm brain before, do they have inputs like an amp? Or just a bunch of wires coming off of it.
I have contacted compustar multiple times and they have not gotten back to me (emailed early last week) so any help would be greatly appreciated.
