Hi...

After countless hours of hopeless searching on the internet I ran into this website and it has been very informative.  I'm looking to install a remote start on my 97 Grand Cherokee Limited.  I was first wondering if anyone could give me the wire harness diagram from Techsoft.  I've found one for the 98 Jeep but I just wanted to make sure before I start cutting into things that they were the same.  I'm looking to do a basic remote start so I was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions for this vehicle.  I'm not bad with electrical but I figured if someone had something that oculd save me hours of cursing I'd greatly apperciate it.  My last question is, is there anyway to get the remote start to change the mirror/seat settings or should I just not be lazy?

Thanks and happy holidays

Thanks for the info. I was looking into the Auto Page remote start system and I've now talked to two dealers and they have both have said that no additional bypass's are required with the Autopage units.  Is that correct you know or would I need to still get the bypass for the Jeep?

Thanks

If you are NOT going to hook up the Door Locks you are right........
Otherwise KarTuneMan's info  should be used.......

This Car Uses A Data Link Circuit For Power Door Locks. Wires At Switch In Driver Door Will Operate Driver Door Only, Wires At Switch In Passenger Door Will Operate All Other Doors. Wires Must Be Accessed At Switches In Each Door And Wired As Reversal Rest At Ground Door Locks

And if you do go into the doors, be careful.  About 5 years ago I did one and wired the 5 wire backwards and it burned up the switch.  $300 later, it worked perfectly.  Rookie mistake at the time.   Had to go into the doors back then too.
