Why is it better?Where can I get it from and do I need to use a spare key?

555cw is a newer part number. The 'w' just means it comes in a white box. If you order a 555c from DEI you get blister packaging which you can hang on a peg hook. If you order a 555cw, it comes in a white box you can stack on a shelf. Same product inside....

cause dei is behind the times with interface kits, trilogix doesnt use the hokey "pellet" that has to be positioned JUST RIGHT in order to pick up and learn the transponder code.DEI has been using this technique for almost 8-9 years with no advancement, trilogix hardwires directly to the factory wiring with no chance of anything moving and losing signal, therefore causing failure.with dei its usually a roll of the dice if its going to learn the code. and im sure theres going to be a 50/50 response to my comments with people who are going to say they dont have problems, and there are going to be the other 50% who are on my side. FYI trilogix is also transponder bypass

YOU CAN DO THAT?!?! Hard wire onto the factory coil wiring??? I was always under the impression that it would blow the $$$ factory coil! But hey if thats how they do it that sounds like it would be a pretty fool proof method! We have a pre made coil that is looped through heat shrink tubing making it adjustable so all I do is slide the factory transponder off the ignition barrel (for most vehicles) and slide the coil on and tighten it up. For others I just put it on the outside of the factory coil... Then you'd need 2 of the "origional" keys to program the unit and 99 times out of 100 they'll work flawless... and that last time its usually my fault for messing up the programming or a bad module. Astroflex calls this piece an om-chrysler-2. I just used one on a jeep liberty a few days ago.

The r/s I bought says it has a built in door lock relay module so do I have to use relays for my door locks or not?2002 jeep liberty the diagram on my jeep says to use relays and resistors so do I just use resistors or both with this module.Thanks.

no additional relays are needed for your locks, just the resistors.

As for the bypass pieces, I've used Bypasskit.com and the pieces from Peripheral for 8-9 years.  The shop I work at has their heart dead-set on DEI stuff.  They need to use a 555U and lose a key to do some GM's.  What a joke.  The GMDLBP (or variations thereof) works on just about every single GM car/truck out there.  Too bad nobody listens to me.

DEI makes a mod that will bypass any GM out there without losing a key. Try either the 457G or 556L....

how about a 2004-2005 Grand Prix?  According to Directechs.com it says 556U.

Hehehe...ok, got me. Unfortunately that's probably the only car the 556l and the 457G won't work on.posted_image

Has anybody ever installed this magicar 8200 system before? If you have are there any tips or problems you found to make my life easier, let me know. The only issues I'm having are with the locks and the accessory wires as to where the 2nd acessory wire goes on the remote start and if the locks need relays or not,I can't seem to get a straight answer. The other issue is if I can just hook up my positive parking light output to the positive side of my hazrd lights without a relay because I have a positive output on my remote start but my parking lights are a negative trigger.

You can twist them together to make what you need.

Also the unit you are installing may have some resistance to offer. So you may need relays or just try them and see if they work.

Can you soder resistors from end to end to get your final value?ex.1-330ohm+1-95ohm=425ohm?

yes end to end to add (series), parallel will do 330 + 95 = 73.8ohm series or parallel doesnt have any up or downsides, do whatever to get the value you need
